The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap was developed in the UK by Cambridge physicist and owner of Flipper, Dr. Nick Hill. Nick had experienced first-hand the unpleasant consequences of unwanted neighborhood cats entering his home through the cat door and decided to solve the problem. After three years of intensive research and development, SureFlap was launched in the UK early in 2008. Since then SureFlap has been recommended by vets throughout Europe. SureFlap was launched in North America at the beginning of 2010.
